Come celebrate the day of love Upstairs at the First St. Cafe. We have a special menu set up for two.

Valentine’s day will be here before you know it and now is the time to make your plans. You know how impressed she is when you go and make plans for you as a couple ahead of time without her giving you a hint or just down right bugging you about it???? For the fourth year in a row, First St. Café is hosting a special Valentine’s day dinner upstairs. Deborah Kuhl & Aram or Pawel will be entertaining in French & English giving you that tranquil feeling of being along the Seine at a small bistro, we will serve you an elegant 4 course meal including a glass of wine of your choice & sparkling wine, give you a picture to capture the love in your eyes and at each seating we will be rewarding one lucky couple with a spa treatment for two from Earth Touch Wellness Center in downtown Benicia. Because Valentine's day falls on a Sunday we are offering this special event on both Saturday night & Sunday night. There will be 2 seatings available at 5:30 and 7:45 pm on Sunday night, February 14 and one seating on Saturday night February 13 at 7:00 pm. The cost will be either $65 or $75 per person depending on your entree choice. The entree choices are:
Steak Diane with Filet Mignon
Pan Seared Mahi Mahi with fresh fruit salsa
Chicken Paillards with avocado/pomegranate salsa.

Wine Dinner July 2010

Join us for our next wine dinner Hawaiian Style on Wednesday, July 28 from 7:00 to 9:45 pm. This dinner will feature the wines of Kendal Jackson Grand Reserve. We will be pairing these fine wines with a great dinner featuring an appetizer sampler, special salad, entree & dessert sampler. The entree choices will be listed here soon. We will have James Patrick Regan playing his mellow & jazzy slack-key guitar music to help us transcend to the Islands for the evening, creating a wonderfully relaxing time and a spokesperson for Kendall Jackson will be on hand to give us some extra insights into these wines. The cost is $60 per person plus tax & gratuity. Please be sure to wear your best Aloha shirt or Island apparel so you fit right in with our Hawaiian mood. As you know if you've attended our wine dinners before, we usually have a couple of surprises to go along with the fantastic dinner described above, so please make plans to join us. This Eisch decanter has the same features and properties as the others shown. Dripless! It has a classic duck decanter shape with a capacity of 1.5L.

With NO DROP EFFECT©, the Eisch glass factory now for the first time utilises this effect for consumer glassware: It is employed to avoid undesirable drops when pouring drinks from carafes and duck decanters.

Who is not familiar with this: After pouring, drops of red wine run down the outside of the decanting carafe, and leave ugly stains on the tablecloth or on the vessel itself. With the NO DROP EFFECT©, this is a thing of the past. Already when wine is poured, the NO DROP EFFECT© almost completely prevents the formation of drops at the rim of the glass. As a result, no drops of red wine will run down the outside of the carafe. This guarantees perfect stain protection of vessel and table-cloth!

The NO DROP EFFECT© is based on a special treatment of the glass surface which perma-nently prevents drops from running down the outside of carafes and duck decanters.

The NO DROP EFFECT© will keep its unlimited effective-ness, if you avoid strong scrubbing in the coating area and do not clean the decanter in the dish-washer.
After manual dish-washing, the surface-treated area must be carefully cleaned with clear water in order to avoid any detergent deposits – ideally just use clear water for cle-aning the decanter. Then please wipe it dry with a soft cloth.
When pouring, please take care that the wine flows calmly and uniformly, to achieve an optimum NO DROP EFFECT©.
